1. Introduction
The WXG-4 is a precision optical instrument designed to measure the optical rotation of optically active substances (e.g., sugars, essential oils, pharmaceuticals). It is widely used in chemistry, food science, and pharmaceutical industries for quality control and research.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Preparation
1. Place the instrument on a stable, vibration-free surface.
2. Turn on the sodium lamp and allow it to warm up for 5–10 minutes.
3. Fill the polarimeter tube with distilled water (or blank solvent) to calibrate zero point.
4.2 Zero Adjustment
1. Look through the eyepiece and rotate the analyzer until the two halves of the field are equally bright.
2. Record the vernier scale reading as the zero point.
4.3 Sample Measurement
1. Fill the clean, dry polarimeter tube with the sample solution (avoid bubbles).
2. Insert the tube into the instrument.
3. Rotate the analyzer until the field brightness is balanced again.
4. Read the rotation angle from the scale (main scale + vernier).
